GCSE Catch Up

At the student's pace, in their own space and all the resources they need in one place.

Private tuition is too expensive and out-of-reach for most students, and with the end of the National Tutoring Programme (NTP), schools cannot afford to facilitate this either.

GCSE Catch Up's primary mission is to provide students with an alternative to private tuition. It offers a new approach to structuring GCSE students' out-of-school learning and revision. Instead of just one hourly lesson per week, students can participate in a new lesson every day.

To bridge the gap between ourselves and tutors, we offer three different lesson types to cover all aspects of teaching:
Topic - To cover the knowledge
Exam-style - To prepare for exams
Q&A -  To find any gaps in learning

Our School Mission

Closing the student disadvantage gap

The disparity between advantaged and disadvantaged students is not decreasing. According to The Sutton Trust, disadvantaged GCSE students can lag behind their advantaged counterparts by as much as 18 months in recent years. The pandemic has only worsened this situation due to lost learning time. The impact of this gap on students includes heightened stress and anxiety, as well as diminished life opportunities.

Many schools cannot afford to keep up tutoring sessions for struggling students, and with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) also coming to an end, there is a need for an alternative to private tuition.

We believe that all secondary school students should have access to lessons taught by tutors, whatever their background or circumstances. The concept of GCSE Catch Up is to provide students with daily lessons by tutors without the financial burden of paying for a private tutor.
